Spanning five trekking days, this journey connects Paro and Thimphu through ancient trails once used by traders and pilgrims. The trek passes through pristine forests of rhododendron, high ridges with sweeping views, and crystal-clear alpine lakes famous for their trout.

Cultural sightseeing in Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha complements the trek, giving travelers an authentic glimpse into Bhutan’s traditions, spirituality, and history. Itinerary

On a clear day, the flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. Upon arrival, you will be greeting you by our representative. In Paro, visit the 17th century Ta Dzong (watch tower). Next head to the Paro dzong (Rinpung Dzong) meaning “fortress of the heap of the Jewels”. Overnight in resort.

After breakfast, you will hike to the magnificent Taktshang Monastery at 3100m. after exploring the monastery, you enjoy a lunch at the Taktshang cafeteria. After lunch you will walk further down to the valley where your transport will be waiting to transfer you back to the town. Explore the Paro town and hotel. Overnight in resort.

10KM | 3-4 HOURS | 1000M ASCENT | 10M DESCENT | CAMP ALT 3350M

After breakfast we will start today’s relatively short trek. Starting just above the National Museum; we climb till we reach camp. If the weather is clear the Paro valley and the snow-capped mountains can be seen. The campsite is near the old Jele Dzong. If the caretaker is there, we can visit the dzong.

12KM | 4-5 HOURS | 300M ASCENT | CAMP ALT 3700M

Trek through alpine forests of rhododendron, with gentle climbs and open meadows. The trail offers opportunities to see yak herders along the way. Camp in Jangchulakha surrounded by high ridges.

15KM | 4-5 HOURS | 400M ASCENT | 300M DESCENT | CAMP ALT 3880M

Follow the ridgeline with spectacular views of mountains and valleys. Descend to the stunning Jimilangtso Lake, famous for its large trout. Camp near the lake and enjoy a serene evening in the highlands.

12KM | 4-5 HOURS | 300M ASCENT | 10M DESCENT | CAMP ALT 4100M

Continue your trek past dwarf rhododendrons and alpine lakes, including the picturesque Janetso Lake. In spring, the trails are adorned with rhododendron blossoms. Camp overnight at Simkota.

14KM | 5-6 HOURS | 100M ASCENT | 1700M DESCENT

Begin with a gradual climb before descending towards Phajoding Monastery, offering panoramic views of Thimphu Valley. From here, continue downhill to meet your vehicle and transfer to your hotel in Thimphu.

Altitude 2320m.

We will have time to explore the capital today and visit one of the largest Buddha bronze statues in the world. Plan on visiting the following local sites; The Memorial Chorten, Painting School, National Library, Takin Preserve Centre, and Tashichho Dzong. Dinner and leisure time at town. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3100m), marked by 108 chortens and offering spectacular mountain views. Visit Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility), the majestic Punakha Dzong and the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. Overnight in Punakha.

Before returning back to Paro visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Drive to Paro via Thimphu, stopping for lunch and some leisure time to shop or explore the capital. Continue to Paro for your final overnight stay.

After breakfast, according to your flight schedule we will drive you to the airport.
