Itinerary
On arrival in Paro, you will be warmly received and driven to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu. After settling in, begin your sightseeing with visits to the Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma, the Takin Preserve, and Tashichho Dzong, the grand fortress housing Bhutan’s central monastic body. Dinner and overnight in Thimphu.
This morning, drive east via the scenic Dochula Pass (3100m), where clear days reveal a stunning panorama of the Himalayas. Continue to Punakha to visit the Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility), built by the Divine Madman. After lunch, explore the spectacular Punakha Dzong, majestically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Return to Thimphu for the evening. Overnight in Thimphu.
After breakfast, visit National Library, Painting School, and the Folk Heritage Museum, which showcases Bhutanese rural life. After lunch, drive back to Paro and explore the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), an architectural masterpiece. Stroll through the handicraft emporium and local market. Overnight in Paro.
Hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) perched 900m above the valley. The trail winds through fragrant pine forests, offering glimpses of the monastery along the way. Stop for lunch at the halfway cafeteria. In the afternoon, visit Kyichu Temple which was built by King Songtsen Gempo in 7th century. Overnight in Paro.
Drive to Airport. Farewell and departure with unforgettable memories. Have a pleasant flight back home.
